Personal Background

Born and raised in Carson, California, in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, I’ve been solving problems my whole life. As a child, I loved puzzles. As a young man, my plan was to become an FBI agent.

In order to reach my goal of acceptance into the FBI, I needed a degree in law enforcement, law or accounting. I decided to go the accounting route due to my love of math. Somewhere along the way, I realized I’d rather do tax consulting than chase bad guys.

Career History

An accomplished CPA with more than 20 years of experience managing multi-million dollar accounts, I started my career as an intern at Rossi, LLP in 1993. Upon graduation from college, I was offered a full-time position with the firm. I remained there for 15 years, moving through a series of promotions to Tax Manager, a position in which I managed a team that controlled all levels of tax compliance and planning for the firm’s business and individual clients.

In 2008, I made a move to the client side, taking on the role of Controller for Active Ride Shop, a retail company focused on skateboard accessories and apparel. During my tenure with Active Ride, I managed a staff of seven people in overseeing financial operations for more than 25 retail stores and e-commerce totaling more than $70 million in sales.

It wasn’t long, however, before a big firm came calling again. I joined Williams & Ribb, LLP as a Manager in 2009. There, I supervised a staff of four while managing all levels of accounting, tax compliance and planning for the firm’s individual and business accounts. Clients included auto dealerships, construction companies, physicians, retailers, and agricultural companies.

Crisell & Associates recruited me in 2011. As a manager at Crisell, my responsibilities expanded yet again, this time encompassing all levels of accounting, tax compliance and planning for the firm’s long list of clients (including corporate accounts totaling $63 million, partnerships totaling $19 million and individual accounts totaling $33 million) as well as leading the re-branding of the firm complete with redesigned logo and re-launch of the company website. I also directed the firm’s IT functions and acted as liaison with external hardware and software providers, significantly reducing the firm’s overhead costs through astute negotiations with vendors.

In October 2014, I returned “home” to Rossi, LLP, this time as Partner. I remain with the firm today.
